Fisher Phillips announced that five attorneys in the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office were included in the 2016 Florida Super Lawyers Magazine. Partners Suzanne Bogdan, Charles S. Caulkins, James C. Polkinghorn and Cathy Stutin were listed, while Of Counsel Abigail H. Kofman was also named in 2016 Florida Rising Stars. This marks Caulkins tenth consecutive year of inclusion in this publication. The annual selections are made using a multi-phased process, which includes a statewide survey of lawyers, independent research evaluation of candidates, and peer reviews by practice area.

Suzanne K. Bogdan is the regional managing partner in the Fort Lauderdale office. She is also the Chair of the firm’s Education Practice Group, representing more than 100 private educational institutions. Bogdan’s practices include preventive counseling, training, policy reviews, defense of claims in the administrative setting and litigation in all courts. In addition to being selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America, she has been named to South Florida’s Top Rated Lawyers presented by Legal Leaders, and selected for inclusion in The Legal 500 – Litigation in 2015.
Charles S. Caulkins is a partner and a member of the firm’s Management Committee. Caulkins has represented employers nationally in labor and employment law matters since 1977. He is also Chair of the Broward Workshop and a board member of the Florida Chamber. Most recently, he was named to “The Top 100 Most Powerful Employment Attorneys” by Human Resource Executive magazine.
James C. Polkinghorn is a partner and is the head of the firm’s litigation practice in Fort Lauderdale. He is an experienced trial attorney, with extensive experience litigating cases of all levels of complexity, from single-plaintiff discrimination claims to multi-party class and collective actions arising under state and federal labor and employment laws. Polkinghorn is also a certified mediator, adept in giving practical perspectives on litigation strategies.
Cathy M. Stutin has been practicing management-side labor and employment law for more than 25 years. She represents employers in state and federal courts, and has tried cases involving claims for sexual harassment, race, religious and disability discrimination, and more. Stutin was selected by the National Association of Women Lawyers to receive the Outstanding Woman Law Student Award at the University of Miami, and was recognized in the South Florida Legal Guide as one of the “Top Lawyers” in South Florida.
Abigail H. Kofman is Of Counsel for the firm, focusing on the defense of employers before state and federal court, and administrative agencies, on a broad spectrum of employment-related matters. She also represents employers charged with employment discrimination before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Florida Commission on Human Relations and various local agencies.
