Hunton & Williams LLP partner Corey Lee was recognized as one of South Florida’s Most Powerful and Influential Black Leaders in Business and Industry for 2016 by Legacy Miami. The annual listing, which honors not only professional success but also community service, was published in the magazine’s “Power” issue and included as a special insert in the Miami Herald.
Lee’s practice at Hunton & Williams focuses on commercial litigation, including information security and data breach incidents, class actions, and electronic discovery. He has executed internal investigations involving data breaches, health-care fraud, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), and Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) for health care, consumer and retail companies. He also represents Fortune 500 companies as they respond to government subpoenas and investigations involving data breach events, the False Claims Act, the Stark Law, and the Anti-Kickback Statute.
In addition to his legal practice, Lee currently serves as President of the Board of Trustees for AMIkids Miami-Dade (AMI) and as a member of the Yale University Alumni Schools Committee. A 2012 Leadership Council on Legal Diversity Fellow, Lee was recently elected Treasurer of the LCLD’s Alumni Executive Committee and has been active as a mentor in the organization’s Success in Law School Mentoring Program, planning of alumni conferences and alumni program development.
Lee has also been recognized as a 40 Under 40 Rising Star by Daily Business Review, a Rising Star by Florida Super Lawyers, and a 40 Under 40 Outstanding Lawyer in Miami-Dade County by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, South Florida Chapter. He received his bachelor’s degree from Yale University and his law degree from Duke University School of Law. Lee also served from 2004 to 2005 as judicial clerk for Hon. John Lungstrum, Chief Judge of the US District Court for the District of Kansas.
