CREW Miami Tackles the Diversity Dilemma on February 10th

2/1/21

CREW Miami (Commercial Real Estate Women Miami) announces its February webinar open to both members and non-members. The Diversity Dilemma is scheduled for 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 10th and registration information can be found at crewmiami.org/events.

CREW’s 2020 Benchmark study found that women only occupy 36.7% of the commercial real estate industry. While 2020 brought a cultural shift regarding diversity and inclusion, equity for women and BIPOC is still an uphill climb. Join to learn how CREW Miami’s panel of leaders are turning their words into actions and doing their part to amplify voices that are not heard. This program will explore the lack of diversity in the industry, what can be done to change it, and how to face the challenges and benefits of being one of few.

“I'm excited for this program,” states Ligia Labrada, CREW Miami’s 2021 Board President and Founder and President of Miami-based UNUM Consulting, Inc. “Oftentimes we hear about companies and organizations having a hard time finding diverse candidates. My hope for this discussion is for all to consider CREW Miami as a perfect source of qualified diverse women. Our members cover all aspects of Commercial Real Estate and are always ready to do business.”

The guest speakers are:

Dani Evanson, Principal of Align Finance Partners. Evanson has 25 years of experience in real estate, with a background in finance, acquisitions, dispositions and portfolio management. She is also a past President of CREW Los Angeles.

Dawil Sully, Co-founder and Co-managing partner of Oakwood Development Group. Oakwood is a real estate development and investment company focusing primarily on multifamily and mixed-use projects in the Los Angeles metro area.

The talk will be moderated by Melissa Rose, Managing Director, Capital Markets at JLL. Rose is CREW Miami’s Program Director.
