The Florida Peninsula Insurance family of companies is pleased to announce the company has hired veteran reinsurance professional Gard Olbers as Chief Risk Officer. In this new role, Mr. Olbers joins the company’s executive management team and will be responsible for ongoing risk management efforts, including leading the insurance and reinsurance purchases for Florida Peninsula Insurance and Edison Insurance. He will also oversee the company’s Product Development team focusing on expansion opportunities in additional programs and markets.

Most recently, Mr. Olbers served as Senior Managing Director at Aon Reinsurance Solutions, overseeing the company’s Florida property practice. Throughout his two decades with Aon he worked in the New York, Connecticut, and New Jersey offices before establishing the company’s West Palm Beach office.

Mr. Olbers has served as lead broker on a variety of property and casualty reinsurance program placements with regional and/or national scope, designing and executing some of Florida’s largest, most complex catastrophe reinsurance programs.

He is a graduate of Franklin and Marshall College.
