Orchid Insurance Appoints Carey Smith as Chief Information Officer

VERO BEACH, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Orchid Underwriters Agency, LLC, among the largest independent managing general underwriters focusing on catastrophe-exposed properties, has named Carey B. Smith, who has more than 25 years of experience as a technology strategist and digital disruptor, its chief information officer, Kathy Cody, executive vice president and chief operating officer at Orchid Insurance, announced today.

Smith, who recently served as chief information technology officer at Constellation, Inc. where he helped save the medical professional liability carrier increase productivity and eliminating waste, will oversee the modernization and transformation of Orchid’s information and computer technologies, said Cody.
