PulteGroup Virtual Fundraiser Raises Over $158,000 for Children’s Home Network in Tampa Bay

PulteGroup’s West Florida Division held its annual fundraiser in support of the Children’s Home Network, but this year it was a little different. In place of their annual golf tournament, the team hosted COVID-safe virtual events that included a “Golf Ball Drop” and online auction which raised $158,475, breaking last year’s record.

Keeping with the golf theme of past years, Pulte sold numbered golf balls and arranged a helicopter to drop the balls onto the green at Feather Sound Country Club in Clearwater, Florida. The owners of the golf balls that made it into the hole shared the $1,000 prize.

“Despite the limitations of the pandemic, we are proud to have been able to have a highly-successful fundraiser for an organization that means so much to our team and our community,” said Sean Strickler, President of Pulte’s West Florida division. “Our relationship with the Children’s Home Network has grown every year with this amazing event, and this year, despite its challenges, was no different.”

The event was a success with the help of trade-partners that stepped up and gifted their pledged donation despite the tournament being cancelled. To show appreciation for the support, Pulte provided participants a certificate for a round of golf for up to four people at Southern Hills Plantation Club. Local PulteGroup employees also participated and, as with all charitable giving, PulteGroup matched employee donations.

“Once again the Pulte team exceeded our expectations,” said Irene Rickus, President & CEO of Children’s Home Network. “Given the situation with the pandemic, cancelling the tournament and still proceeding with fundraising—the results this year were unexpected and truly wonderful.”

Today, the Children’s Home Network serves nearly 25,000 underprivileged and at-risk children and adults each year with values that focus on respect, dignity, trust and compassion. They strive to become the leader in innovative programs and services in the field of child and family well-being, and as an exemplary model for the governance, management and operation of nonprofit entities.
