With flu season coinciding with the COVID-19 pandemic, MD Now is offering free flu shots to help keep communities healthy and safe

The CDC recommends that all people six months of age and older get a yearly flu vaccine, and now with flu season and COVID-19 happening at the same time, health officials say getting a flu shot is more important than ever. The flu vaccine reduces your chances of getting the flu by 40-60% and statistics from the 2018-2019 flu season show the vaccine prevented an estimated 4.4 million influenza illnesses.
“Since it is possible to contract the flu and COVID-19 at the same time, we suggest that people protect themselves the best they can,” said Dr. Jeffrey Collins, MD NOW’s Chief Medical Officer. “We felt it was important to offer the vaccine for free this year to help avoid co-infections and prevent an additional burden on hospitals and first responders who are already overwhelmed.”
No appointment is necessary, and customers can now check-in online at MDNOW.com. All locations are physician-led and have additional safety measures in place to meet CDC guidelines. Vaccines are administered by trained medical professionals and will be available while supplies last.
If you are experiencing flu-like symptoms, MD NOW also offers a rapid test that can detect the flu virus.
