Virtual event raised funds for substance abuse and mental health programming
House of Hope is pleased to announce that its first ever Race for Recovery raised more than $2,500 for substance abuse and mental health programming.
With more than 60 participants, Race for Recovery was a virtual event that encouraged the community to get out and get active to raise awareness of the impact that addiction has on the South Florida community and to raise funds to support the men and women in recovery at House of Hope, the leading non-profit provider of substance abuse and mental health programming in Broward County. Throughout the weekend, participants ran, walked, jogged, swam or biked two miles in honor of the two people that die every day in South Florida due to an overdose.
“We could not be more thrilled with the success of our first ever Race for Recovery,” said Sue Glasscock, House of Hope CEO. “It was wonderful to see the community come together virtually for such a special cause and we could not have done it without them. Every dollar raised through Race for Recovery will help House of Hope in its effort to rebuild lives, reunite families and strengthen the South Florida community.”
