Young At Art Museum’s 23rd Annual Women of Vision Luncheon, which will honor those who are committed to and believe in the museum’s mission to enrich the community through artistic, interactive experiences for all ages, will be held on Wednesday, March 18 beginning at 11 a.m. at the museum, 751 SW 121 Ave in Davie.
Proceeds from the 2020 Vision luncheon will benefit the museum's creative and pioneering programs including ArtREACH, a free, afterschool art, literacy and academic enrichment program for homeless youth and teens, ages five-15, living in Broward emergency and transitional shelters, or in independent transitional housing; Girls N’ Power, a gender empowerment through art program for at-risk girls at PACE Center Broward; YAA On The Go, a traveling bus program that increases access to visual arts experiences and education for children and families throughout Broward and South Florida; and YAA for ALL, a new program at the museum that provides programs and events for children and adults with autism or other sensory integration sensitivities made possible through a partnership with University of Miami and Nova Southeastern Universities Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD).
Women of Vision members have raised more than $1.7 million for YAA’s community initiatives that serve the homeless, at-risk youths and low-income families. This year’s luncheon will honor Paulette Livingston and Martine Zinn, two accomplished women that have been integral to the expansion of the museum’s programs, exhibitions and community initiatives.
As senior communication specialist for FPL SolarNow and a YAA board member, Livingston has created a lasting impact in the community through a partnership between the museum and FPL SolarNow that has helped spread awareness of sustainable energy with solar installations that directly benefit the energy grid in and around the museum’s Gold-LEED certified building and allowed for the development of interactive exhibitions, education programming and unforgettable events for museum visitors and the community.
Civic leader Martine Zinn, who served as secretary of the museum’s board for more than 16 years, is a visionary when it comes to children and learning through the arts. Zinn is an inaugural member of Young At Art’s Women of Vision Society and served as a leading advocate for the museum’s ARTREACH program. In understanding the need for continued programming for the community within the museum and beyond, she has donated and sponsored a wide variety of events, initiatives and exhibits through Craig Zinn Automotive and continues to be one of YAA’s leading advocates and sponsors.

Young At Art Museum (originally named Young At Art Children’s Museum) was founded in 1987 to fill a void in arts education in South Florida public schools. Founded by artists Esther and Mindy Shrago, Young At Art traveled South Florida for two years as a Museum Without Walls, opening in 1989 in a 3,200 sq. ft. storefront in Plantation, Florida. Outgrowing its space immediately, YAA utilized creative means for meeting the demands of families, from leasing storefronts for camps and classes to establishing a Traveling Exhibit Program for small museums in Florida. Ten years later, in response to overwhelming community demand, Young At Art relocated to Davie in 1998, moving into a 24,000 sq. ft. leased space and proving its ability to successfully operate a $1 million+ museum with exhibit galleries, art studio classes, student field trips and events for 100,000 children and families annually.
