Litigator part of exclusive group to achieve brand-new attorney specialty distinction

Roger Kobert, a Partner with Weiss Serota Helfman Cole & Bierman, P.L., is one of only 20 Florida attorneys to become Board Certified in International Litigation & Arbitration. On Aug. 1, with its launch of the brand-new certification, Florida became the very first state to offer such a distinction.

For Kobert, a trial attorney in the firm’s Litigation Division with over 30 years’ experience litigating and arbitrating international disputes, the new board certification confirms him and his peers as leaders in International Law. Kobert is also Chairman of the Federal Bar Association’s International Law Section.

Kobert serves on The Florida Bar’s new nine-member International Litigation & Arbitration Certification Committee, which created the examination for board certification candidates and reviews their qualifications. Committee members are appointed by the Florida Bar president.

As Chairman of his law firm’s International Group, Kobert solves problems for foreign and domestic businesses, governments, and individuals, by negotiating, investigating, and litigating disputes wherever they may arise. He serves periodically as a U.S. law expert in foreign court proceedings, advises foreign governments on matters of U.S. law, and leads cross-border, multi-national and domestic dispute resolution teams.

Kobert is also active in the American Bar Association’s and Florida Bar’s International Law and Litigation sections. He is an alumnus of the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Miami School of Law.
