Carlos A. Manrara, CPA

The SSJ Health Foundation, a South Florida philanthropic organization dedicated to supporting the work and healing of the St. John Bosco Clinic, is proud to welcome Carlos A. Manrara, CPA, to its board of directors. The current board is comprised of passionate and spiritual community leaders dedicated to providing a safety net for the uninsured residents of Miami Dade County. With the addition of Manrara, the current board now consists of 14 members.

“Our board of directors is the engine that helps drive our organization’s mission, which is to provide passionate and philanthropic healthcare for the underserved in our community,” said Berta Cabrera, Executive Director, SSJ Health Foundation. “Carlos has the unique combination of financial savvy and a passion for healing which will make him an invaluable member of our team.”

Carlos A. Manrara is a Miami-raised Certified Public Accountant and partner at Zubero Syed & Manrara, LLC, a role he took on late 2018. Though Manrara has been an accountant since 2009, and a CPA since 2014, a passion for healing and desire to go to medical school temporarily deviated him from this path. In 2015, Manrara began volunteering at the St. John Bosco Clinic.

After four years immersed in study, Carlos recognized that accounting was his professional calling and that he could help the underserved in a different way. Now, as the SSJ Health Foundation’s newest board member, Manrara sees the opportunity to give back to the community by guiding SSJ financially, making introductions to potential donors, thus growing its reach and improving the impact on those who work within, and benefit from, its mission.

“I have always been a big believer in the power of community service,” said Manrara. “I began volunteering in missionary trips while still in high school at Belen Jesuit Preparatory. This sparked a belief that I can make a real difference in the community. I fell in love with the work of the St. John Bosco Clinic and am both honored and excited to help grow its reach and impact on the uninsured in our community.”

The SSJ Health Foundation provides the financial support needed to operate the St. John Bosco Clinic, which provides medical services to approximately 1500 uninsured patients, with over 5000 medical visits, per year.
