The fifth annual Waterway Soirée, Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center’s (CDTC) signature event, took place on the docks of Bahia Mar Marina on Saturday, May 11.
The signature event raised just over $259,000, the largest ever, to help support CDTC’s Primary Medical Center, Dental Clinic, and social services for children with special health care needs. Since its inception five years ago, the event has raised more than $1M to support these boys and girls and their families.
The unforgettable, chic evening began dockside with a yacht hop, offering guests the chance to explore a beautiful display of eleven luxury yachts. Dinner guests were later treated to an intimate evening aboard one yacht where they were served a sumptuous, custom-prepared dinner from one South Florida’s finest chefs and restaurants with perfectly paired wines courtesy of Breakthru Beverage.
This year’s Waterway Soirée Community Anchor Honoree Award was presented to three outstanding community philanthropists and activists selected by the event Host Committee and Anchor Society Members. Receiving the awards were Florida Senator Lauren Book for her support and advocacy for children in our community; Beverly Morley, CEO and President of Maritime Professional Training, for her compassion for families in need and many years of philanthropy; and Dev Motwani, President and CEO of Merrimac Ventures, for his dedication to the growth and well-being of our community.
“CDTC is blessed to have such an amazing outpouring of support by our community partners and sponsors,” said Dr. Ana Calderon Randazzo, Executive Director for Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center. “The Waterway Soirée continues to grow with the help of sponsors and our incredible host committee.”
Bahia Mar Resort & Yachting Center and Expo Convention Contractors worked alongside CDTC to create a breathtaking outdoor venue. Breakthru Beverage prepared special wine pairings to go with savory meals created by top chefs from restaurants including: Oceanic Pompano Beach, ETARU, JWB Prime Steak & Seafood, Timpano Italian Chop, Truluck’s, SALT and Mastro’s Ocean Club.
