Doreen Yaffa, founder and managing partner of Yaffa & Associates, was appointed to the Board of the Faulk Center for Counseling.
To join the Board of the Faulk Center, Yaffa was nominated and took part in an interview process with Vicki S. Katz, Faulk Center for Counseling CEO, and Lois Weisman, Board President. She then met with the nominating committee where her application was approved. The Board now has 11 members who range from pharmacists to attorneys to accountants and many other professional positions.
“We are delighted to welcome Doreen Yaffa to the Faulk Center for Counseling family,” said Lois Weisman, Faulk Center for Counseling Board President. “She brings her professional expertise, leadership and compassion for mental health. Doreen is an incredible asset to our board and we look forward to her participation in our mission to provide free and low cost mental health services to our community.”
In addition to her legal work, Yaffa mentors young attorneys as well as hosts her Yaffa Power Women series for all business women, not just attorneys, to learn and discuss various topics such as wellness, entrepreneurship and work/life balance. She enjoys educating and mentoring other attorneys on how to achieve greater balance, introducing them to the collaborative process as a less combative legal path so attorneys can achieve better relationships at work and with their own families.
Along with supporting the Faulk Center for Counseling, Yaffa is the co-chair for the local branch of the Alzheimer’s Association and is involved with Impact 100 and the JCC of Boca Raton.
Yaffa earned her J.D. from the Shepard Broad Law Center at Nova Southeastern University and her Bachelor of Business Administration from Florida Atlantic University. She’s been a licensed attorney since 1994.
