Miami Bridge Appoints Three New Board Members

Miami Bridge Youth & Family Services, Inc. has appointed three new board members: Steven J. Lezman, Edwin Rodriguez, and Melanie Sanchez.

“We are very pleased to be welcoming our three new board members. They have all demonstrated leadership skills in their respective fields as well as a commitment to community service. We look forward to their contributions as we continue our mission of helping families and youth in crisis,” said Marlene Quintana, president of the board of directors at Miami Bridge.

Steven J. Lezman is Senior Director, Government Affairs at PepsiCo, working in state and local government affairs for the company. Lezman has worked for PepsiCo for the last 32 years in Environmental Affairs, Public Relations, Plant Operations Management, Facility Planning, Engineering, as well as Government Affairs. Previously he worked at Ore-Ida Foods in Michigan as a Plant Engineer. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in chemical engineering.

Edwin Rodriguez is Relationship Manager and Vice President at TD Bank and is responsible for the company’s business and financial developments. He has been with the bank since 2009 and has been rated the number one producer for five years. Prior to TD Bank, Rodriguez worked as a sales consultant for Appstar Financial in San Diego, California. His community service includes work with the March of Dimes and the Special Olympics. He is a graduate of Miami Dade College.

Melanie Sanchez, MBA is Vice President, Commercial Relationship Manager at BB&T. Her experience in the banking industry includes positions in Branch Management, Private Banking, and Treasury Management. She now works as a Commercial Lender. Sanchez previously worked at Florida Community Bank. In addition to being a new board member for Miami Bridge, she also sits on the board of the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce. She received both a Bachelor of Arts degree and an MBA from Florida International University.

Miami Bridge was established in 1985 and serves as Miami-Dade County’s only 24-hour emergency shelter for children and teens in crisis ages 10-17. For more than 33 years, the non-profit organization has worked to rescue youth in the community from lives of victimization and crime by providing refuge, protection and specialized care in a nurturing, stable environment. Annually, Miami Bridge shelters more than 600 children and teens, providing over 10,000 care days for those individuals, as well as counseling to more than 550 families with children ages 6-17.
