Armor Correctional Health Services Appoints Otto Campo CEO

Armor Correctional Health Services today announced its new leadership team. Heading the team will be Otto Campo as CEO who has more than 25 years of healthcare experience. Campo has been an executive and advisor to Armor since its inception and will be responsible for overseeing the strategic direction of the company.

“Our total focus at Armor Correctional is serving our law enforcement clients and these special patients by providing quality patient care. My immediate goal is to provide extraordinary and cost-efficient services to the jails and prisons we represent,” said Campo. “I look forward to guiding Armor through this important transition.”

Campo is a seasoned healthcare executive and is known as a turnaround specialist.

He has industry experience with Medicare Advantage global-risk contracting, correctional healthcare, home healthcare, and hospitalist groups. Previously Campo was president of MCCI Group Holdings, a global-risk provider to large health plans throughout the United States. In that role, he was responsible for the strategic and operational execution of the organization, which assumed full risk for the healthcare delivery solutions for Medicare Advantage members. Under his leadership, the organization grew from $200 million in annual revenues to over $1.5 billion at the time the company was sold to Humana.

Campo received his Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting and an MBA from the University of Miami.

Also joining Armor’s leadership team will be Santhia Curtis as general counsel and compliance officer. She will be responsible for advising the executive team on legal issues and compliance as well as litigation management. She has 28 years of extensive legal, compliance and corporate governance expertise and has held progressive leadership roles in both legal and business across multiple industries including healthcare operations and medical education. Prior to joining Armor she was general counsel and chief operating officer of a high net-worth family’s diversified holding company in McLean, Virginia where she managed the investment portfolio for domestic and international opportunities. Curtis received her Bachelor of Arts and her law degree from the University of Georgia.

Manuel “Manny” Fernandez was named vice president of operations and will be responsible for all of Armor’s operations in support of its goals. Fernandez received his Bachelor of Science in finance from Florida International University and obtained his MBA from Nova Southeastern University. He was previously director of financial operations and started at the company in 2011 as a financial analyst.

They will be joining chief administrative officer, Ken Palombo, who has been with Armor since 2006. Palombo has more than 25 years of experience in the legal, healthcare, and religious nonprofit sectors. He earned a Bachelor of Science in political science and cinematic arts from Brigham Young University and a law degree from the University of Tennessee.
