Broward Health to Host Inaugural Cardiac Symposium

Broward Health will host its inaugural Cardiac Symposium on February 2, 2019, at the Sheraton Suites Fort Lauderdale at Cypress Creek, located at 555 N.W. 62nd St., Fort Lauderdale, Florida, from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The one-day conference will provide physicians and other healthcare professionals an overview of the latest in cardiac treatments and care.

“We are excited to host Broward Health’s inaugural Cardiac Symposium,” said Heather Havericak, chief operating officer, Broward Health Medical Center, “and bring together leading experts in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease who are willing to share their knowledge and recent findings.”

Featured speakers include leading cardiac experts from Broward Health Medical Center, Cleveland Clinic Florida, the University of Florida’s Health Heart & Vascular Hospital, and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Additionally, representatives from some of the nation’s top medical schools, including The Medical University of South Carolina and Northwestern University, will convene to discuss the latest clinical advances, treatments and research in cardiac and vascular surgery.

Kenneth Herskowitz, M.D., medical director of cardiovascular surgery at Broward Health Medical Center, will serve as the symposium moderator, and Ahmed Osman, M.D., a cardiologist affiliated with Broward Health, will co-chair the event. Also in attendance will be Broward Health Medical Center faculty Robert Cubeddu, M.D., section chief cardiology; Violeta McCormack, M.D., medical director, interventional cardiology; and Alan Niedeman, M.D., interventional cardiology.
