Business for the Arts of Broward Welcomes Three New Board Members

Business for the Arts of Broward (BFA) has welcomed the following three new board members:


Jennifer Bales Drake, Tali Karp and James “Jim” McCormick, III, MD, MBA

Jennifer Bales Drake is vice chair of Becker’s public, private partnerships practice group. Drake’s practice focuses on commercial transactions and handles all aspects of planned project development. She represents national, regional and state financial institutions in the areas of documentation for both real estate and asset based financing, loan modifications and in restructuring and refinancing multi-million dollar loan transactions, as well as disposition of REO properties. Drake has been recognized by the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance for outstanding community leadership and named to the Martindale-Hubbell Bar Register of preeminent Woman Lawyers in Legal Ability and Ethical Standards.She graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. and J.D. from the University of Tennessee. Drake is a resident of Plantation

Tali Karp has been corporate controller at Stiles Corporation for the last 10 years. She oversees the accounting and financial reporting functions and the real estate portfolio. Karp joined Stiles Corporation in 2000 as a senior accountant and was later promoted to accounting manager in 2002. Prior to joining Stiles, Karp gained extensive experience in the real estate industry by working for both public and private companies. She has a B.S. from the University of Minnesota and is a resident of Oakland Park.

James “Jim” McCormick, III, MD, MBA is a national reviewing medical director for Humana Senior Products. Dr. McCormick joined Humana in 2012 as an area medical director and was promoted to three more positions over the years including regional medical director for Humana’s Pacific Division and VP of integrated health care / medical director of specialist services. Licensed to practice medicine in Florida, Jim also has been published in medical travel publications and medical care publications. He is a founder and was a director of NuMask, Inc., where he invented a medical device for critical airway management. A resident of Miami, Jim is also an internationally recognized abstract photographer.
