William T. Dymond, Jr.
Lowndes, Drosdick, Doster, Kantor, & Reed, P.A. is pleased to announce that President and CEO, William T. Dymond, Jr. was elected Chair-Elect of the Orlando Economic Partnership (OEP) for the 2018-2019 term. Dymond will assume the role of Chair for the 2019-2020 term.
Having previously served on the OEP’s Executive Committee and Board of Directors, Dymond also chairs the organization’s Business Development Strategy Council and was formerly the Chair of the Economic Strategy Committee and Co-Chair of the Investor Relations and Business Development Committees. Dymond is a long-time supporter of civic and charitable organizations and has served as a board and executive committee member of Enterprise Florida which promotes economic development statewide.
“I’m excited and honored to serve in this role, and continue to work closely with the OEP to bring high-wage jobs, economic growth, and broad based prosperity to our community,” said Dymond who recently traveled to Pittsburgh with 80 Central Florida leaders to learn about the Steel City’s transformation into a model for innovation.
Appointed by Governor Scott, Dymond is currently in his sixth year serving as the Chair of Space Florida’s Board Of Directors. The organization, which serves as the state’s aerospace and spaceport development authority, has partnered with NASA to operate Kennedy Space Center and expanded the state’s ability to dominate the growing commercial space market while creating jobs in this unique sector.
As the past Chair of Florida Citrus Sports, Dymond has been instrumental in a number of initiatives in the sports industry, including a leading role in securing the renovation improvements to the Camping World Stadium. The investment has attracted world-class entertainment and sports, including the Rolling Stones and this year’s NFL Pro Bowl. Dymond also served as the lead negotiator in securing multi-year television agreements with ABC and ESPN for the Citrus Bowl and Camping World Bowl games, as well as team selection agreements with the Big 10, SEC, ACC, Big East and Big 12 conferences – all big wins for Central Florida. Dymond is also a co-founding board member of LIFT Orlando, a nonprofit organization comprised of business leaders partnering with residents to accelerate community transformation and to break the cycle of poverty through holistic neighborhood revitalization in the shadow of the Camping World Stadium.
Additionally, Dymond serves as the General Counsel to Visit Orlando and sits on its executive committee and board of directors in that role. Dymond’s service to community includes charitable organizations as well, such as Morningstar Charities, Heart of Florida United Way and American Diabetes Association’s Father of the Year Council, among others. Dymond is an award recipient of the OEP James B. Greene Award which was named after a visionary leader to Central Florida – a pioneer who shaped the history and defined the future of the community.
