Ron Drew and Alfredo Aguirre
Two South Florida business leaders have been named to the Board of Directors for Broward Education Foundation, a 501C3 dedicated to transforming the lives of Broward County Public School students through the support of quality education and the organization that launched https://www.gofundme.com/
Joining the board is Ron Drew, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications for the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance, and Alfredo Aguirre, Senior Vice President of Wealth Management for Merrill Lynch.
“Broward Education Foundation contributes nearly $3 million to Broward County schools, serving as the catalyst for educational excellence. Both Ron and Alfredo are committed to that mission,” said Christina Fischer, Broward Education Foundation Board of Directors Chair. “With the business leaders like Ron, Alfredo and the rest of board engaged in our vision, we will continue to have a transformational impact on the lives of students and teachers. We welcome Ron and Alfredo and look forward to the insights they bring.”
Drew serves as a member of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of the Coordinating Council of Broward and the Board of Directors of the Greater Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. He also is a member of the Children’s Movement of Broward County Board of Advisors and member of the Broward Reads Coalition – Campaign for Grade Level Reading. He earned a B.A. and M.B.A. from Texas A&M University – Texarkana and is a resident of Fort Lauderdale.
Aguirre is active in the St. Bonaventure Finance Council, Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber Finance Committee, Weston Rotary Club and Weston CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) and has taught financial awareness classes throughout Broward County for nearly two decades. He serves on the Board of Directors of Junior Achievement and Jack & Jill Children’s Center and is a graduate of Leadership Broward’s Class XXXI. A resident of Weston, he earned a bachelor’s degree from University of Florida.
