Raymond James has hired experienced finance professional Amar Krishnamurti as a managing director in the Technology & Services Investment Banking practice. Krishnamurti will help lead the firm’s efforts in the Infrastructure Software and emerging “Internet of Things” sectors, areas in which he has extensive experience both domestically and internationally.
“Amar is a highly regarded professional with an exceptional understanding of the Infrastructure Software space,” said Brendan Ryan, managing director and co-head of the Technology & Services Investment Banking practice. “His broad experience across the technology ecosystem makes him adept at delivering superior results to clients, and we are thrilled to welcome him to our team where he will continue to leverage his expertise.”
“We have been seeking an addition to our Technology & Services team for some time,” added Jon Steele, co-head of the practice. “Once we met with Amar, we immediately recognized that he had the necessary attributes to be highly successful on our platform. We are excited about the prospects of partnering with Amar as we continue to build the leading Technology & Services Investment Banking practice in the market.”
Krishnamurti joins Raymond James from Jefferies LLC, where he was a senior member of the firm’s technology investment banking practice focused on advisory and capital raising services for middle-market companies globally. He began his career at Jefferies in 2004, as an analyst in the technology M&A group. In 2006, as an associate, he moved to London and then New Delhi where he helped launch the firm’s India office. He returned to Jefferies in New York in 2010, having spent just over a year working with StreamTV – a Jefferies client. A graduate of Carnegie Mellon University with a degree in economics through the university’s Science and Humanities Scholars program, Krishnamurti will be based in Raymond James’ New York office.
“I am very excited to be joining the highly successful Raymond James Technology & Services Investment Banking team, as the firm has built a powerful global M&A and capital markets platform,” said Krishnamurti. “We expect to see an increase in M&A and other transaction activity across the technology sector due to very high levels of disruption and innovation, and I look forward to continuing to provide comprehensive strategic advice to our clients around the world.”
