Cardiology practice continues to grow with new physicians and locations
HeartWell, LLP, South Florida’s premier cardiology group, announced that it has added three new physicians to the growing practice. Paula A. Montana De La Cadena, MD, Ashok Mittal, MD and Roberto Arce, MD join HeartWell at the Galloway location at 7400 SW 87th in Kendall and West Kendall location

Dr. Arce has tremendous experience and a significant reputation in South Florida, where he has been practicing for 35 years. He is an established clinical cardiologist with a focus on cardiovascular disease and internal medicine. He graduated from the University of Miami School of Medicine and completed his both his internship and residency at Jackson Health System.
Dr. Montana De La Cadena comes to HeartWell from Texas where she was an assistant clinical professor of Medicine at the Division of Hospital Medicine, Department of Medicine, University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She will be developing a new program focusing on women’s heart issues to answer the need for a focused practice directed at this population. She completed her cardiovascular disease fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center and her internship and residency in internal medicine at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. She earned her MD at the Universidad del Valle in Cali, Columbia.
Dr. Mittal brings valuable experience he gained at the Heart and Vascular Institute, Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland where he was a fellow in the Division of Vascular Medicine, with Level III training in vascular medicine. He is also skilled in echocardiography and nuclear cardiology and earned his Level II training in these areas at Montefiore Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. He earned his medical degree at Maulana Azad Medical College in Delhi, India and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in molecular cardiology at Weill Medical College of Cornell University.
The three new physicians come on the heels of HeartWell opening its tenth location, this one in West Kendall. “Our goal is to serve the people of this region with outstanding doctors and convenient offices,” said Jeffrey Kaplan, chief operating officer for HeartWell. “Our steady growth and focus on excellence and innovation has led to tremendous outcomes for our patients.”
