Greg West, President & Chief Development Officer of ZOM, has been named the new Chair of the ULI Southeast Florida/Caribbean, which serves Urban Land Institute (ULI) members in Southeast Florida and the Caribbean. ULI is a global, multidisciplinary real estate organization whose work is driven by 40,000-plus members dedicated to leadership in the responsible use of land and creating and sustaining thriving communities worldwide. As ULI SE Florida/Caribbean Chair, West will serve on a voluntary basis for a two-year term that ends July 2019.

“I look forward to guiding ULI Southeast Florida/Caribbean to achieve our strategic goals to create impact in the region, further member engagement and advance a strong organization,” West said. “I look forward to building on the excellent work that Chuck Bohl has accomplished with his active leadership over the past two years, especially in establishing three public policy priority areas that will help guide the vision and direction of the organization over the years ahead. I am personally passionate about these three areas: housing affordability, resiliency and mobility. Our dedicated, enthusiastic members are eager to continue their work towards solving the pressing land use issues facing the greater Southeast Florida region.”.

As incoming Chair, West will preside over a newly appointed leadership team including Chair of Mission Advancement Tom Roth of Grass River Property; Chair of Public Policy Andrew Frey of Tecela; and Treasurer Mark Aronson of Holland & Knight. Dr. Chuck Bohl, the Immediate Past Chair, will become the Chair of the Governance Committee.

According to ULI Global Chief Executive Officer Patrick L. Phillips, the Institute draws its global strength from its work at the local level. “Cities around the world are facing many of the same challenges, such as demographic and population changes, new economic drivers, environmental concerns, rapid technology advancements, housing affordability and infrastructure stresses,” Phillips said. “ULI’s District Council and National Council programs serve as a highly effective network through which members in vastly different markets can share ideas and best practices to make a positive difference and lead the future of urban development.”
