
Raymond Magnuson
Raymond Magnuson was named Region VII vice president to the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU) Board of Trustees at the 87rd Annual Convention and Exhibition in Orlando, FL.
“We are pleased to welcome Ray as a regional vice president of NAHU. He is a wonderful example of what understanding and experience can bring to the discussion of healthcare reform. He is devoted to using his knowledge and passion to make sure health insurance agents have the information they need to best serve their clients,” said Janet Trautwein, NAHU CEO.
Magnuson, principal and owner of Magnuson & Associates, has worked in the insurance industry for almost 35 years, specializing in employee benefits. As a member of NAHU for over 20 years, he has served in multiple positions as president for both the Arizona Association of Health Underwriters (AHU) and Southern Arizona AHU. He has also served on NAHU’s Health Underwriters Political Action Committee and is a member of NAHU’s Leading Producers Round Table.
A believer in continuing education, he has obtained many advanced designations, including Chartered Life Underwriter, Chartered Financial Consultant, Registered Health Underwriter, Registered Employee Benefit Consultant, NAHU’s PPACA certification and corporate wellness.
“At no time has the role of the agent and broker been more critical than it is today. Helping consumers and businesses navigate, understand and implement the changes of healthcare stability is key. NAHU members represent the most informed, engaged and educated from within our industry,” Magnuson said.
Magnuson earned his Bachelor’s degree from San Jose State University and obtained his Juris Doctorate from the University of Santa Clara. Residing in Tucson, Arizona, Magnuson and his wife, Jennifer, are surrounded by their six children and three grandchildren. He is an active member in his community, where he has served in multiple capacities at the Brewster Center for Domestic Violence, aka Emerge, Community Food Bank, The Foundation, and Casa de los Niños for abused and neglected children. In his leisure time, he coaches his grandson’s Little League team.
