Executive Women of the Palm Beaches Foundation recently honored the leaders who moved the organization forward during the past 12 months and welcomed the leaders who will assume the roles in 2017-2018 at their annual EWPBF Recognition & Installation Dinner on Thursday, June 15, 2017.
The event, held at Sandpiper’s Cove Restaurant & Bar at Old Port Cove Marina in North Palm Beach, welcomed over sixty business leaders and change makers and “Celebrated 35 years of Women in Leadership”.
In addition to the recognition for the 2016-2017 board, highlight of the evening was the installation of the incoming board of directors, which will be led by Denise Valz as president.
“I want everyone here to think about your journey; where you’ve been, where you’ve come from, and where you are headed,” shared Valz. “More than likely, someone was always there to help you. We need to be those women opening the doors for future women leaders.”
In addition to Valz, other 2017-2018 officers and board members officially installed include:
Trixy Walker, VP Resource Development
Laurie George, PhD, VP Programs & Education
Monica Manolas, VP Community Outreach
Julie Swindler, Secretary
Michele Gurto, Treasurer

Lori Fischer, Immediate Past President
Salesia Smith-Gordon, Of Counsel
Directors: Chanda Fuller, Cecelia Hudnet, Misty Travani, Amy Morse, Amy Brand, Sophia Eccleston, Liv Vesely, Jennifer Rodriguez, Kimberly Lea and Laurie Pfeil
“As is tradition, I, along with our immediate past president Lori Fischer, also want to recognize two women who have gone above and beyond giving of their time and treasure to pave the way for women in our community. Our new member of the year is Sophia Ecclestone and our member of the year is Nanette Winzell.”
