Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin, a leading civil defense litigation law firm, has added Nicholas P. Basco, Kelly A. Schulz and Corey K. Setterlund as associates in the Professional Liability practice in the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office.
Nicholas P. Basco handles insurance coverage and bad faith matters. He represents clients in every aspect of the contested litigation process and handles a caseload of first party and third party insurance defense matters in state and federal courts throughout South Florida. Before joining Marshall Dennehey, he served as an Assistant State Attorney in Miami-Dade County for seven years where he tried more than sixty jury trials and hundreds of bench trials to verdict. He also served as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Miami, gaining civil trial experience in state and federal courts before entering private practice with a civil defense firm.
Mr. Basco earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Loyola University New Orleans and his juris doctor from American University's Washington College of Law in Washington D.C. He is admitted to practice law in Florida as well as the United States District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida.
Kelly A. Schulz focuses her practice on the defense of insurance companies in coverage disputes, bad faith litigation and first party property defense litigation. Prior to joining Marshall Dennehey, she worked at a prominent Florida insurance defense firm where she focused primarily on premises liability, representing major insurance companies as well as self-insureds.
Ms. Schulz earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, cum laude, from the University of Florida and her juris doctor, cum laude, from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. She is admitted to practice law in Florida and is a member of the American Bar Association, The Florida Bar and the Palm Beach County Bar Association.
Corey K. Setterlund defends insurance companies in insurance coverage disputes and first party property litigation. While in law school, she was a subscriptions and articles editor for the ILSA Journal for International and Comparative Law. She also interned at the Broward County Court Family Law division under Judge Melinda Kirsch-Brown.
Ms. Setterlund received her Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Political Science from Florida Atlantic University and her juris doctor from Nova Southeastern University's Shepard Broad Law Center. She is admitted to practice law in Florida and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
