WESTON, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Ultimate Software (Nasdaq:ULTI), a leading provider of human capital management (HCM) solutions in the cloud, announced today that it has been ranked #3 on the 2016 list of the 50 Best Workplaces for Parents, created by Fortune and Great Place to Work. The Best Workplaces for Parents ranking is based upon the feedback from 122,482 working parents at Great Place to Work-Certified companies that completed the Trust Index©Employee Survey.
“We are honored to be ranked on the 50 Best Places to Work for Parents list because the ‘People First’ culture at Ultimate is a statement about our commitment to employees and their families,” said Vivian Maza, chief people officer at Ultimate. “We recognize that parenting responsibilities have evolved, and we have designed our policies, workplace, and culture to support both mothers and fathers in their new roles. We know that when we take care of our people, it will show in the way they take care of our customers.”
Ultimate provides 10 weeks of paid maternity leave to all full-time female employees and four weeks paid paternity leave to all full-time employees whose spouse has a child or who has adopted a newborn child up to age 1. Additionally, Ultimate offers private, onsite “Mommy’s Rooms” for nursing mothers, with lactation machines and other resources. Ultimate excels as an “Employer of Choice” with extremely competitive benefits, including 100-percent-employer-paid health coverage for full-time employees and their families.
Rankings were derived from the answers of U.S. employees across industries to 58 questions about the reality of their day-to-day work experience, including organization-wide support for work-life balance, the quality of benefits, the fairness of opportunities for professional development and advancement, and their assessment of the quality of the workplace.
To determine the winners, Great Place to Work analyzed how positively mothers and fathers experienced their workplace overall, paying special attention to an index of factors where parents tended to have a less positive experience than colleagues without children. The ranking also takes into account how favorably parents experienced their workplace relative to colleagues without children, as well as the availability and generosity of maternity and paternity leave programs, adoption support, and childcare programs.
