TAMPA, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Syniverse announced today that former President and CEO of Verizon Wireless Dan Mead has joined the Syniverse Board of Directors. Mead previously led Verizon Wireless from 2010 until his retirement in 2015, following a 37-year career as a mobile industry executive.
“Dan is a tremendous addition to the Syniverse Board, as he brings a wealth of experience and understanding of the business challenges and opportunities faced by today’s mobile service providers,” said Chairman of the Board James Attwood. “He also brings a unique understanding of Syniverse as well, both through his experience of being a customer and from an internal perspective, as he once led operations for the company in the 1990s when it was known as TSI.”
Mead was one of the founding senior executives of Verizon Wireless in 2000 and previously served as president of the company’s Midwest area. In addition to his executive leadership experience, he also has served as a member of the Verizon Wireless Board of Representatives as well as on the Board of Directors for CTIA.
“I’m excited to return to Syniverse to serve alongside an impressive Board of Directors,” Mead said. “We’re in an unprecedented era of wireless connectivity, and I look forward to helping Syniverse and its customers capitalize on the growth opportunities that lie ahead.”
