Fowler White Burnett Shareholder Rory Eric Jurman served as Chair and Organizer of the Broward County Bar Association (BCBA) 2016 Legal Malpractice Summit held on October 14, 2016.
Jurman moderated four panel presentations, which also included several judges as speakers on a variety of topics. “The Interplay Between Legal Ethics and Legal Malpractice, Common Bar Grievances against Attorneys, and Best Practices” panel was led by speakers: Judge John Bowman, Judge Marina Garcia-Wood, Judge William W. Haury, Jr., Judge Thomas M. Lynch IV, and Judge Robin Rosenbaum. Judge Jack Tuter spoke on the “Data Breach, Privacy, and Confidentiality” panel, and Judge Dorian Damoorgian spoke during the luncheon program on “Viewpoints - Assorted Malpractice Pitfalls.”
Jurman focuses his practice on providing strategic and cost-effective counsel to Fortune 500 companies, insurers and self-insureds. His practice includes insurance coverage, bad faith, professional malpractice, liability and commercial litigation.
Jurman provides coverage advice concerning virtually every type of general, excess and professional liability insurance policy, including employment practices liability, directors and officers liability and malpractice/errors or omissions policies for various professions. He handles the investigation and evaluation of multi-faceted and high-exposure claims, including class actions and complex coverage issues. He has litigated numerous trials through appeal, including multi-party cases, and major declaratory judgment, liability and rescission actions.
In addition to his legal work in the insurance industry, Jurman also handles a broad range of litigation matters.
