Esteemed financial and legal executives join Board of Directors to guide CNB
City National Bank, the premier private and commercial bank in Florida, announced that two new members have been appointed to its Board of Directors.
Fernando A. Capablanca and Charles C. Papy III have joined the 11-member board and will help guide City National Bank. Capablanca brings with him a wealth of financial industry knowledge and experience. Papy, a veteran attorney and litigator, has vast experience in the business, banking and insurance sectors.
Fernando Capablanca, Managing Director of Whitecap Consulting Group LLC in Coral Gables, is a longtime leader in the banking industry. Capablanca was Vice Chairman of the Bankers Advisory Board of the Conference of State Bank Supervisors (CSBS) in Washington, D.C. until June 2016, a position to which he was appointed in 1992 by the Comptroller of the State of Florida. In 2007, he was made Chairman of the International Bankers Advisory Board of CSBS and was awarded the prestigious McCormick Award for Excellence in International Bank Supervision. He is a former president of the Florida International Bankers Association and currently serves on its Board of Directors. In addition, Capablanca has been President of the Cuban Banking Study Group Inc., a Florida non-profit, since 1994 and is also a Knight of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta and Director in charge of the works of the Order in Cuba. He graduated from New York University and the Harvard University Graduate School of Business and was President of the Harvard Business School Club of South Florida.
Charles Papy is Of Counsel at the law firm of Duane Morris, where he practices as a commercial litigator, representing corporations and high net-worth individuals. He has tried numerous jury trials and also has significant experience in arbitration before the American Arbitration Association primarily dealing with national and international law issues. His banking experience includes being a member of the team that organized the purchase of Gibraltar Federal Savings Bank, where he acted as general counsel to the Board of Directors and to the bank from the time of the purchase until it was sold in 2005. He is a past Board Member and Vice Chairman of the board of Professional Bank of Miami, a Florida state bank. In addition, Papy is Chairman of Tom Gallagher Insurance Agency, LLC in Miami, a general insurance agency providing all types of insurance to clients throughout Florida. He is the past Chairman of the Dade County Health Facilities Authority, responsible for all county bonding on non-profit hospitals and past member of the board of directors of the American Red Cross Miami-Dade chapter. Papy served as chairman of the Judicial Nominating Committee of the 11th Circuit Court of Florida and is an Elder in the Presbyterian Church of America.

Rosenberg, president of Florida International University; Maria Grisel Vega, Bci Miami General Manager; Diego Yarur Arraste, Bci Commercial Banking Executive.
