As part of Chevron’s Fuel Your School program in 2016, a special delivery was made today at Mr. Escobedo’s classroom at Terra Environmental Research Institute in Kendall. In partnership with www.DonorsChoose.org, Chevron’s #FuelYourSchool program delivered one of the first supply boxes in the Miami-Dade County market, allowing high school students to create a Mobile Charging Station as part of their course work in the 2016-2017 school year.
Chevron’s Fuel Your School program is an innovative collaboration with DonorsChoose.org, an online organization that makes it easy for anyone to help students in need. Fuel Your School makes it easy for local communities to help fund eligible classroom projects at public schools.
Throughout October, everyone can help their local schools by filling up at participating Chevron and Texaco locations in Miami-Dade County. $1 will be donated per 8-gallon or more fill up, up to $500,000, to help support public education at schools in Miami-Dade County.
Local public school teachers in Miami-Dade County can sign up and post their eligible classroom project at DonorsChoose.org from Sept.1 through Nov. 15. DonorsChoose.org will use the donations to help fund eligible classroom projects and distribute the materials or supplies to the classrooms.
Visit www.FuelYourSchool.com, where you can track the progress of funded projects at public schools in Miami-Dade County, and follow Fuel Your School on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
