Michael Tipton
Alyona Ushe, President & CEO of Cultural Arts Creatives, Inc. announced that she has selected Michael Tipton as the Director of Pompano Beach Cultural Center. Tipton has over twenty years of managerial experience with performing and cultural arts organizations throughout the country; with a special emphasis on opening new venues. The Creatives is contracted by the City of Pompano Beach to program and manage The Pompano Beach Amphitheater (The Amp) and the soon-to-open cultural center, which will debut March 2017.
“Michael completes our amazing team of top professionals in their fields,” said Ushe. “His extensive technical experience managing diverse centers including Mesa Arts Center, LSU Union Theater, and Lauderhill Performing Arts Center make him a perfect candidate to run the day-to-day operations at the Cultural Center.”
Tipton’s primary responsibilities will include working closely with the Creative Alliance, which is comprised of the Center’s resident companies, in scheduling and planning the use of the venue; creating and administering systems, policies, procedures and budgets for the venue; minimizing expenses and providing excellent customer service; coordinating information and logistics (production requests, schedules, paperwork, monies, and materials) between client and technical, financial, administrative, box office and marketing staff and other duties as required.
“I am honored to be working with The Creatives’ team to launch this outstanding new venue,” said Tipton, who is graduate of IAVM Venue Management School (VMS) and IAVM VMS Graduate Institute. “This cultural center will offer Pompano Beach and all of South Florida a stellar lineup of dance, theatre, concerts, art exhibits and more.”
