Fundraising professional to assist in providing scholarships for women seeking higher education

The Women’s Chamber Foundation, the educational Foundation of the Women's Chamber of Commerce of Palm Beach County, recently announced that Clinics Can Help (CCH)’s Director of Operations, Maureen Ashe, has been appointed to their board of directors.

Ashe’s vast experience in grant writing, fundraising events and donor development make her appointment to the Women’s Chamber Foundation a perfect match. With a focus on enhancing their Scholarship Program, the Foundation provides women with opportunities for higher education.

“I am honored and excited to grow my role with the Women’s Chamber Foundation,” said Ashe. “The work being done in the community for young women is something I am proud to be a part of. I am very much looking forward to this expanded role and involvement with the Foundation’s scholarship program.”

Ashe, who has a successful career with nonprofits across Palm Beach County, was hired as the Clinics Can Help’s first, full-time Development Director in 2013. In her time with the organization, they have become locally and nationally recognized for their innovative programs that distribute gently used medical equipment and donated medical supplies to families and individuals in need, regardless of their ability to pay. During her time with CCH, Ashe has successfully helped the organization receive numerous grants, seek volunteers and donations, and create their first fundraising events including the highly successful annual golf tournament.

While the Lending Closet program was CCH’s first hallmark medical equipment recycling program, Ashe saw the need for a special program focused on pediatric patients. With her and CCH’s leadership partnering together, they developed the KINDER (Kids In Need of Durable Equipment Right now) Project, which seeks and provides special adaptive strollers, wheelchairs and other equipment for children with serious medical conditions. The response was overwhelming and wildly successful. And, while the demand has increased, Ashe and the entire CCH team stay focused on attaining items and funds to help clients with a special focus on the word NOW.

Ashe resides in West Palm Beach where she enjoys golf and tennis with her husband, Larry. The mother of three and proud grandmother of four is also a member of the Planned Giving Council of Palm Beach County and the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
