Andrew J. Markus
Carlton Fields is pleased to announce that Andrew (Josh) Markus, a shareholder in the firm’s Miami office, has been elected to the Board of Governors at the American Bar Association (ABA), where he will represent Florida and Texas (District 8). He will serve a three-year term.
The ABA’s Board of Governors comprises 42 members who oversee the general operation of the Association and develop specific plans of action. Markus has just completed a 3 year term as a Commissioner on the Commission on Women in the Profession of the ABA. He is a former Chair of the ABA Section of International Law from which he received a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2010, as well as a former Chair of the International Law Section of The Florida Bar.
At Carlton Fields, Markus chairs the firm’s International group. He represents U.S. and non-U.S. companies in international and domestic corporate transactions including joint ventures, strategic alliances, mergers and acquisitions, public private infrastructure partnerships, and multi-jurisdictional international projects. He is board certified in International Law by The Florida Bar.
