Experienced banking professional joins as Private Client Group Officer

City National Bank, the premier private and commercial bank in Florida, announced that Jose Sotomayor has joined the bank as a Private Client Group Officer at its Brickell headquarters, located at 1450 Brickell Avenue.

Sotomayor, an experienced banker, comes to City National Bank from BankUnited where he served as Vice President, Senior Private Banker. While there he was awarded top private banker for 2013 and 2014, generating a depository growth of 200 percent over goal and managing $130 million in deposits. Prior to working at BankUnited, Sotomayor was a financial specialist at Wachovia Bank and a mortgage banking team leader at Beneficial/HSBC.

Sotomayor is an active board member of Fins Weekend which raises money for the Miami Dolphins Foundation.  He also serves on the board of Broward County Guardianship Association and the Dean’s Advisory Board for College of Education at Florida International University.
